Tickets for the Kerry Fencing World Championships 2026 go on public sale via Klook on 9 June, with the event set to run from 22 to 30 July at AsiaWorld-Expo – marking the first time Hong Kong has hosted the sport’s premier global event.

Co-organised by the International Fencing Federation (FIE) and the Fencing Association of Hong Kong, China, the nine-day championships will bring together over 1,000 elite fencers from more than 200 countries and regions.

Competition spans all three weapons – foil, épée and sabre – making it Hong Kong’s first major international fencing event covering the full programme since the 2017 Asian Fencing Championships. The venue will be configured as a 7,000-seat arena, and the event carries the HKSAR government’s “M” Mark recognition for major sports events.

The timing could not be better for Hong Kong fencing. Olympic foil champion Edgar Cheung Ka-long headlined a press conference launching the event last month, alongside teammates Ryan Choi Chun-yin, Leung Chin-yu and Lawrence Ng Lok-wang.

Cheung has spoken of the significance of hosting the championships at home. “Before, maybe we didn’t have enough confidence to show Hong Kong people that we were good at sports,” he said. “But now I think our team and athletes across different sports have shown everyone that we are capable of doing anything.”
