Asia’s 50 Best Bars announces extended list before Macao awards ceremony

Asia’s 50 Best Bars has unveiled its extended 2026 list of the 51-100 top bars in the region, ahead of the awards ceremony for the top 50, which will take place in Macao on 28 July. 

Now in its sixth edition, the extended ranking this year features 11 new entries and bars from 25 Asian cities, including Goa, whose Bar Outrigger topped the list, rising from 55th to 51st place between 2025 and 2026. 

Singapore had the most number of bars out of all the cities on the 51-100 list, with a total of seven establishments. They included new entries BOP (52) and Bar Bon Funk (90), as well as bars such as Side Door (57), the Elephant Room (58), Native (80), Cat Bite Club (86) and Stay Gold Flamingo (97). 

Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo and Seoul each had four bars on the list. Kuala Lumpur’s Cabinet 8 (65) appeared on the list for the first time. The Bar at the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo and the Seoul-based Charles H also made their debuts this year, earning spots in 75th and 87th place respectively. 

China’s performance on Asia’s 50 Best Bars extended list

Hong Kong recorded three entries, including the Opposites, which climbed up 26 places, from 80 in 2025 to 54 in 2026. The Savory Project and Tell Camellia were positioned in 60th and 81st place respectively.

Mainland China also registered three entries – Hangzhou’s Chimney (91), Shanghai’s Coa (95) and Beijing’s Bar Long Fong (96). 

Taiwan’s performance was particularly strong, with a total of five entries across three cities. The island’s highest entry was Moonrock in Tainan (67), followed by Kaohsiung’s Maltail (68), as well as Bar Mood (82), the Public House (92) and Lab (99), which are situated in Taipei. 

Emerging mixology destinations

Notably, emerging destinations such as Galle, Sri Lanka and Makati, Philippines debuted on the extended list after Ropewalk and the Spirits Library secured spots in 93rd and 98th place. 

The highest surge on the extended list came from the Enigma Mansion in Ho Chi Minh City, which was ranked 55th place, up 38 spots year-on-year.

“It’s inspiring to see the continuing emergence of establishments paying homage to their local cultures and native ingredients on this year’s 51-100 list,” Faye Huggett, the director of community for Asia’s 50 Best Bars, said.

According to Asia’s 50 Best Bars, its rankings are decided by a group of more than 300 regional industry professionals, including bartenders, bar owners and cocktail experts.
