Eligibility & policy
Briefings suit timely, factual news of relevance to our readers across Hong Kong, Macao and the Greater Bay Area. We may decline, or edit out, unsubstantiated superlatives, overly promotional language and claims we cannot verify. If we decline your story, you pay nothing: your invoice is simply cancelled, and anything already paid is refunded in full.
Macao and Hong Kong law both tightly restrict advertising in certain sectors, and because our readers span both, we apply the stricter rule conservatively. We do not accept Briefings that promote casino gaming or betting, medical or health services, or pharmaceutical and health-claim products – the latter require prior government authorisation to advertise in Macao. We are glad to cover an integrated resort’s non-gaming news: dining, hotels, entertainment, retail, arts and community initiatives. News involving alcohol brands or financial and lending products is considered case by case, and may be declined or adapted at our editorial discretion. Unsure whether your story qualifies?
