Shenzhen is set to launch a dedicated artificial intelligence data platform this Friday, designed to support one-person companies (OPC) and reduce the costs associated with innovation.

Operated by the government-backed big data centre GBAnexus, the new infrastructure will provide cloud computing resources, AI model services, and data API services to help developers and one-person companies build and deploy applications more efficiently, China Daily reports.

Computing resources on the unified platform will be available at 50 to 80 percent of prevailing market prices, offering a significant reduction in operating costs for early-stage entrepreneurs. A central feature of the system is its access to over 40 billion processed data records.

Li Dongyang, director of operations at GBAnexus, explained that these datasets were compiled over four years through an investment of 420 million yuan and the work of more than 400 professionals, including researchers and data engineers.

Unlike raw data, the information has been cleaned, structured, and standardised for immediate use in AI applications by one-person companies. The database is expected to grow by roughly 3 million records per day to meet industry demand.

The platform for one person companies will also be accessible to entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao who establish businesses on the Chinese mainland, a move intended to foster innovation collaboration across the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

This initiative supports Shenzhen’s broader Action Plan for Building a Leading Artificial Intelligence OPC Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (2026–2027), which aims to establish over 10 OPC communities, incubate 1,000 AI startup companies, and attract 10,000 AI professionals to the city by 2027.
