Zhongshan’s first large-scale immersive indoor snow park – My Sam Town Snow World – is scheduled to open on 25 July, according to a government post published last week.
Located in the My Sam Town commercial block in Zhongshan’s Qijiang New Town, the new venue has a building area of more than 3,000 square metres and a floor height of 9 metres.
Some of the attractions in the park include a ski slope, an ice cave, Russian-style castles, ice slides, snow-themed street, carousel and ice sculptures of animals such as polar bears and sea lions.
Speaking to local media, Luo Jingping, representative of the snow park, said the venue would open all year around, maintaining a constant temperature of around -5°C. She noted that the park would make use of world-leading snow making techniques to produce smooth and realistic snow.
“Southerners in China are naturally drawn to snow,” Luo said. “We want everyone to be able to enjoy real snow across all four seasons of the year right at their doorsteps, without having to travel to China’s northeast.”

Currently, tickets for My Sam Town Snow World have gone on presale via platforms such as Douyin and Meituan, with prices the same for adults and children, as well as across weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
A ticket for one person costs 69 yuan, while those for two and three people are priced at 99 yuan and 139 yuan respectively. The entrance fee includes the free use of cotton-padded clothing and shoe covers.
The park is open to those aged 2 and above and those under the age of 70. Minors are required to be accompanied by a parent.
According to Luo, online ticket sales have currently exceeded expectations. On opening day, the park’s foot traffic is expected to exceed 5,000 people.
“We will control the number of people entering the venue depending on the customer flow at the time,” Luo said, adding that the venue can handle a maximum of around 500 people.
According to the My Sam Town Snow World representative, Zhongshan’s first indoor snow park will implement crowd control measures if it experiences a large influx of visitors after opening.
“We want everyone entering to have the most fun and not to simply see an ocean of heads,” Luo explained.

She mentioned that Zhongshan’s first indoor snow park would not only attract local visitors, but would also bring in visitors from Jiangmen, Foshan, Guangzhou and other neighbouring cities, offering them a new way to have fun while travelling in the historic city.
My Sam Town Snow World is the key project of the My Sam Town commercial block, covering an area of more than 20,000 square metres. The commercial, which is located next to the Zhongshan branch of Sam’s Club, features specialty restaurants, trendy retailers, family experiential and lifestyle services and entertainment facilities.
