Squid Game: The Experience, the immersive attraction based on the Netflix series, opened in Jakarta on 16 October as the first edition in Southeast Asia. Black Spade Capital, the Hong Kong family office of Lawrence Ho, worked alongside attractions developer Kingsmen Xperience to bring it to Indonesia.

The attraction is at Agora Mall in the Thamrin Nine complex in central Jakarta, home to Indonesia’s tallest building, the 382.9-metre Autograph Tower. Kingsmen Xperience, the Los Angeles-based arm of Singapore-listed Kingsmen Creatives, designed and produced it. SideQuest Worlds, part of PT Vista Adhya Paragon, runs it locally.

Black Spade manages the private investments of Ho, who is chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment. Jakarta follows earlier editions in New York, Madrid, Seoul, London, Sydney and Tokyo.

What is Squid Game: The Experience?

The venue covers more than 1,900 square metres. Visitors play in groups and move through six themed rooms in sessions of about 75 minutes, taking on challenges from the series including Red Light, Green Light and marbles. There are also photo zones, a themed café and a merchandise shop.

Squid Game is one of Netflix’s most-watched series. The first season has 265.2 million views and the second 192.6 million. The third and final season was released in June 2025.

Tickets and opening hours

Standard tickets start at IDR 299,000, with prices varying by day and entry time. A VIP add-on costs IDR 149,000 and includes lounge access, a themed drink and collectibles. The attraction is open 10 am – 10 pm daily. It is recommended for ages 13 and above, and children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Agora Mall is linked to Jakarta’s MRT, LRT and commuter rail lines.

The two companies’ ties date back to February 2025, when Black Spade subsidiary S Experience signed a strategic deal memorandum with Kingsmen Xperience to develop branded attractions in Asia Pacific. The deal named Macao, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand as initial markets.

Announcing the deal, Black Spade president and CEO Dennis Tam said it paired Kingsmen’s expertise in “transforming iconic consumer brand engagements” with S Experience’s “local market knowledge, network and strong presence in the locations”.

Kingsmen’s work in the region includes Monopoly Dreams in Hong Kong and projects for Hong Kong Disneyland and Universal Studios Singapore. Black Spade, headquartered in Hong Kong, invests in sectors including leisure and culture, real estate, medical technology and green energy.
