Canton Fair overseas buyers hit record 352,000 at 140th edition

The 140th China Import and Export Fair, known as the Canton Fair, closed in Guangzhou on 4 November with a record 352,000 overseas buyers from 219 countries and regions.
Overseas buyer numbers rose 12.2 percent from the previous session in the spring, which drew about 314,000. It is the highest in the fair’s 70 year history.

The fair ran in three phases from 15 October to 4 November. Each phase had its own theme: advanced manufacturing, quality home furnishings and better living. The 219 countries and regions represented compare with 220 in the spring session.
What did exhibitors bring to the Canton Fair?
More than 32,000 exhibitors showed 4.88 million products, including smart manufacturing, new energy, household goods and smart healthcare. About 64 percent of the products used technologies such as the industrial internet and AI.
New products made up 23.2 percent of exhibits and green products 26 percent. Both are record highs.
