The festival opens on 18 February 2027 with pianist Bruce Liu and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal performing Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto. Its finale is Spartacus by the State Ballet Company of Astana Opera Theater, with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra playing live, from 19 March.
Programmes run into late March at venues including the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Hong Kong City Hall and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Macbeth is reimagined version of the Shakespeare classic and a world premiere, commissioned and jointly produced by the festival as part of its Jockey Club East-meets-West Series. Hu Jun plays Macbeth and Lu Fang plays Lady Macbeth, under French director Arthur Nauzyciel.
