Following an artistic and musical tribute to famed symbolist poet Camilo Pessanha last week, appreciation for Portugal’s writers continues this Tuesday inside IPOR. At 6:30 pm, a discussion organised by the Associação dos Amigos do Livro em Macau (Macau Friends of the Book Association) celebrates the work of Portuguese poet David Mourão-Ferreira, who passed away 30 years ago.
On Wednesday evening, Instituto Internacional de Macau (IIM) hosts a conference celebrating three decades of the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries). The talk will be led by Professor Luís Manuel Brás Bernardino.
Later that evening, Julia Lam and Eduardo Leal will present Narrativas Invisíveis: As Histórias Por Trás Das Histórias (Invisible Narratives: The Stories Behind the Stories), a dialogue uncovering the hidden perspectives within his work at Casa Garden.

On Thursday, IIM presents the opening of the photography exhibition Padrões de Macau 2.0 (Patterns of Macau 2.0) by Eva Bucho, an extension of the works exhibited in 2024. This new collection documents Macao’s unique cultural patterns, tracking details from doors, windows, and traditional pavements to larger architectural frameworks and urban developments that preserve the city’s heritage.
Over the weekend, Eduardo Leal will spearhead a documentary photography workshop, guiding aspiring visual storytellers through the art of crafting cohesive narratives from isolated moments.
