Macao International Children’s Arts Festival launched

The Macao Cultural Centre hosted the inauguration of the 3rd Macao International Children’s Arts Festival on 3 July, marking the start of a summer-long series of cultural and artistic events. Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the festival features nearly a huge array of shows and activities designed to engage children, youth, and families.

The festival opened with the Giant Puppetry x Science Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo, an interactive production by Erth Visual & Physical Inc. that brings prehistoric creatures to the stage.

This launch of the Macao International Children’s Arts Festival precedes a broader programme including theatrical shows such as the Original Children’s Dance Theatre production Growing up with Dance 2026 – My City, My Dreams and  Musical Magic Wand V – Journey to the West Wind Music Festival by the Macao Chinese Orchestra, alongside the Macao International Children’s Film Festival.

Families can also visit the Children’s Fun Book House pop-up shop at the Macao Cultural Centre, which offers more than 600 titles and free art workshops on weekends through mid-August.

Some outdoor components, including the Where Culture Flourishes, Happiness Happens – MICAF’s Paradise weekend party, initially scheduled for 4 and 5 July, were cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

Tickets for the main events of the Macao International Children’s Arts Festival are available through Enjoy Macao Ticketing, with various discount packages available for selected programmes. Film festival tickets can be purchased via Cinematheque Passion.
