Macao hosts inaugural Greater Bay Area road cycling race on 30 August

Macao will host its first Greater Bay Area road cycling race on 30 August, with riders from Macao, Hong Kong and mainland China competing on a circuit around the East Asian Games Dome in Cotai. The race, title sponsored by OCBC Bank Macau, runs under the name 2026 OCBC Cycle Macau: Greater Bay Area Road Cycling Challenge (Macao Station).

Eight categories, from elite to family
The race offers eight categories spanning elite competitive racing through to a parent and child fun category, aiming to accommodate riders across a wide range of ages and abilities.
A charity component built in
Registration fees from the parent and child category will be donated in full, and OCBC has pledged an additional 50 patacas for every successful registrant across all categories, with proceeds going to Caritas Macau.

Traffic changes on 29 and 30 August
Temporary traffic measures take effect around the East Asian Games Dome from 29 August, including parking bans and restricted access on several nearby roads. On race day, three bus stops, Rink Road/East Asian Games Stadium, East Asian Games/Bowling Centre, and Macao East Asian Games Dome, will be suspended from 6 am to 2 pm, with routes 35, 50, 51, 59, 701X and MT4 rerouted to nearby alternative stops for the same window.
