Portuguese post-rock band Indignu, from Barcelos, will make its Asian debut with a tour of China from 1 to 7 November, performing in Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai and the Greater Bay Area cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
The band will give the first live performances of previously unreleased material from a forthcoming album, scheduled for release in 2027, Forbes reports.
Local acts will join the Portuguese musicians at several stops on the tour. In Hangzhou Indignu will perform alongside Crymeans, while the Shanghai bill will also feature AN Corporation. A member of Tempest will join the line-up in Shenzhen.
Formed in 2004, Indignu initially drew on rock and politically engaged punk, with songs sung in Portuguese, before developing the predominantly instrumental sound associated with post-rock that now defines its music.
Over more than two decades, the band has released five albums: Fetus in Fetu (2010), Odyssea (2013), Ophelia (2016), Umbra (2018) and Adeus (2022). Their latest album was released by independent labels Dunk Records, based in Belgium, and A Thousand Arms, based in the United States.
