South Korean company Faseecom won first prize at the 34th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) announced after the prize-giving ceremony on 4 October.
Platinum Fireworks of the Philippines took second place and Feux Artifice Orion of Canada third. Platinum also finished second last year, when Britain’s Pyrotex Fireworx took the title. This time Pyrotex, which performed in the final show on 4 October, did not make the top three.

Ten companies from ten countries competed over five evenings between 12 September and 4 October. Each night, two displays were launched from the sea near Macau Tower. The theme was “Set Sail for Macao, where the Silk Road Sparkles.”
The shows were told in three chapters: “Encounter with History,” “Encounter with Civilization” and “Encounter with the Future.” Drone displays were added for the first time this year, with more than 3,400 drones planned to open and close the contest. MGTO said the drone show scheduled after the fireworks on 4 October was postponed because of unstable weather, with updated arrangements to be announced in due course.

Entries to the related photo, student drawing and AI art contests are open until 31 October. The fireworks contest has been held since 1989.
