Post Malone postpones Asia tour including Hong Kong show

Post Malone has postponed his Hong Kong concert, originally scheduled for 16 September at Kai Tak Stadium, as part of a wider postponement covering his entire Asia and Australia and New Zealand tour legs.

What did promoter Live Nation Hong Kong say?

Live Nation Hong Kong announced the postponement on Thursday, giving no reason for the decision. Fans who bought tickets through HK Ticketing, Damai or Trip.com will receive automatic refunds, with HK Ticketing processing refunds within 20 to 30 working days from 4 September, and Damai within 10 working days from 27 August. Original ticket prices for the 50,000-seat stadium show, which was set to include support act Don Toliver, ranged from HK$699 to HK$3,199.

How have fans reacted?

The announcement has frustrated fans, particularly those who had planned to travel from mainland China. On the social media platform RedNote, one user said they had already booked holiday leave and hotels, while another criticised the brief nature of the postponement notice, noting it offered no acknowledgement of fans’ travel and accommodation costs.

Some fans have speculated the postponement is linked to underwhelming ticket sales, though this hasn’t been confirmed.

What about the rest of Post Malone’s tour?

The entire Asia leg of Post Malone’s Big Ass Stadium World Tour has been postponed, along with his subsequent Australia and New Zealand shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland, and his headline appearances at Australia’s Strummingbird festival, where he’s been replaced by Tyler Childers, Sam Barber and James Johnston. No official reason has been given for the wider postponement either.

This isn’t the first disruption to Post Malone’s touring schedule this year. In May, he pushed back the opening weeks of his North American tour, telling fans at the time that he needed more time to finish new music before the tour started.
