The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has confirmed that Macao will host the 50th edition of the PATA Travel Mart from 20 to 22 September 2027. The announcement came during this year’s gathering in Kuching, Malaysia, marking a significant return for the city, which last hosted the exhibition in 2017.

The PATA Travel Mart stands as one of the longest-standing international travel trade exhibitions in the Asia Pacific region. Hosting the milestone 50th anniversary edition reinforces Macao’s strategic position as an international exchange platform linking the Chinese mainland with the global tourism market.

MGTO officials plan to leverage the 2027 event to showcase the city’s “tourism +” development model, which supports its role as a centre for tourism and leisure.

PATA Travel Mart: awards presented

Macao’s influence in the sector was further recognised during the event at the PATA Gold Awards 2026 presentation ceremony. Macao tourism projects secured a record seven of the 32 awards distributed, reflecting excellence in marketing, sustainability, and social responsibility.

The MGTO led the way with two awards: the Pop Mart Macao Citywalk campaign was honoured for Destination Marketing, while CreatorWeek Macao 2025 won for its social media engagement.

Sands China also received two PATA Gold Awards, both for marketing campaigns. MGM China received one PATA Gold Award in the category of Human Capital Development Programme.

Officials said that the achievements continue to underscore Macao’s commitment to innovation in tourism.
