Guangzhou-Singapore flights hit record nine daily in summer 2026

Guangzhou’s air links with Southeast Asia are set to hit record levels this summer, with airlines adding capacity on routes to both Singapore and Jakarta.

From 1 July, China Southern Airlines will increase its Guangzhou-Singapore services from four to five daily flights. One of those services will also be upgraded from a Boeing 787-9 to an Airbus A350-900, boosting wide-body capacity on the route.

The additions will lift the total number of daily flights between Guangzhou and Singapore to as many as nine, operated by four airlines. China Southern will offer 35 weekly flights, Singapore Airlines 14, Scoot seven and Spring Airlines three. At peak the route will carry three wide-body services a day — the highest level of connectivity the two financial centres have ever shared.

Singapore Airlines now serves nine mainland Chinese destinations under its mainline brand, with Scoot adding a further 15 – though with some overlap, the SIA Group’s combined China network covers 22 unique cities.

On the Jakarta front, Indonesia’s TransNusa has increased its Guangzhou-Jakarta services from seven to ten weekly flights, with the full ten-frequency schedule in effect from 15 June, according to AeroRoutes. The additional services are operated by Airbus A320 aircraft.

China Southern controls roughly 25 percent of total capacity between China and Southeast Asia, with Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at the centre of that network.
