Shenzhen Airlines’ Kunpeng A350 begins London route

Shenzhen Airlines began flying its new Airbus A350-900 “Kunpeng” aircraft on the Shenzhen to London Heathrow route on 15 August, marking the airline’s first wide-body deployment on the route since introducing the A350 to its fleet in late June.
The A350 initially operates three of the route’s five weekly flights, departing Shenzhen on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. From 22 September, the route becomes daily, with the A350 covering four of the seven weekly flights and the airline’s existing A330-300 covering the rest. Flights operate under numbers ZH887 and ZH888.

Named after the mythical giant bird linked to Shenzhen’s nickname “Pengcheng,” or City of the Roc, the aircraft carries a special livery blending Lingnan cultural motifs with imagery representing Shenzhen’s technology sector. Onboard, passengers get a wider, quieter cabin, smart climate control and full-flight Wi-Fi.
More routes on the way
Shenzhen Airlines will launch direct flights to Bandar Seri Begawan from 29 September, running four times a week, followed by daily flights to Jakarta from 19 October. The airline is also increasing Melbourne service to five flights a week from 25 October, adding Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday departures.
