Macao Fireworks Contest schedule confirmed for 2026

Thailand and China perform on National Day, 1 October, as part of a five-night schedule featuring teams from 10 countries

Macao’s tourism office has confirmed the schedule for this year’s International Fireworks Display Contest. The event runs across five nights between 12 September and 4 October, featuring teams from 10 countries, with two displays each night launching from the sea area in front of Macau Tower at 9 pm and 9:40 pm.

Full schedule

  • 12 September: Brazil (9 pm), Switzerland (9:40 pm)
  • 19 September: Italy (9 pm), Canada (9:40 pm)
  • 25 September: Portugal (9 pm), South Korea (9:40 pm)
  • 1 October (National Day): Thailand (9 pm), China (9:40 pm)
  • 4 October: Philippines (9 pm), United Kingdom (9:40 pm)

Where to watch

Organisers list several vantage points around the city, including Anim’Arte Nam Van, Avenida de Sagres near the Mandarin Oriental, the seaside promenade by the Macao Science Center, and Avenida do Oceano in Taipa.

About the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest

Now in its 34th year, the annual event has drawn more than 100 teams from over 20 countries and regions since it began, including past participants from Japan, Australia, France, Germany and the United States. A British team won first prize at last year’s edition. The tourism office notes the published dates and lineup remain subject to change pending final confirmation.
